Hi everyone,
Eivor here today to share with you a new tutorial.
I will do a skin coloring and also quick show you how I created the grass on my card. Today I will be working with stamps from the new 4"x4" clear stampset "Kawaii Cute As A Bug". She is so so super cute!!
I don't how it is for you, but I have been struggling for some time to find a skin color and technique I like and works for me. I now think I found my favorite, so today I will show you the colors I use and my way of coloring.
I used copic sketch, and the colors... E13, E11, E21, E00, E000, E0000, R22, R20 and R30.
I start with E13, a thin line close to the hair to create a shadow. This will be the darkest on the face. Then I take E11 and color over the E13 and just extending a little.
Next color is E21, I just extending over the first two color and then I take the E00 and color around the hole face using flicking motions from the side and out towards the middle. Still leaving a lot of white space in the middle of the face.
With E000 I extending more and I am trying to color almost same areas on both sides, like under and around the eyes. So to the last skin color E0000. With that I color the hole face. I am a little careful to color over the eyes on this image due to there is much black. It can sometimes "bleed" and the black will extend over the face. So be careful.
After this I go over the face again with all colors except E13. I now start with E11, and I do the same procedure with all the colors to the last one, E0000. This gives the face a nice contrast.
Now it is time to color the cheeks and this is a color combination I recently dared to try, and I just love it! I start with R22 and placing the color with small flicking motioins or dods close to the side of the face. Then I take R20 and extending just a liiiiiittle, just softing the first color a little.
My last color for the cheek is R30 and with this I go over the cheeks and try to blend and soften the colors. Then I take the E0000 and go over the cheeks and hole face again and it soften and smooths up the color a little more.
And below you see the finished face.
Now to the quick tip for doing grass.
I used 5 copic colors I liked for my grass. You can choose like 3-5 colors of your favorite green colors.
So then I start with the darkest color and work my way up to the lightest. I start at the bottom of the paper and do flicking motions up towards the top. And thats it...flick, flick, flick...until I think it looks like grass and the way I want.
After using all the colors I want for the grass. I cut out an edge with a die that looks like grass, but I think you also can use a scissor to cut.
